The Story of the Cow: A Test of Obedience
Summary
The story of how Bani Israel was tested when Allah commanded them to sacrifice a cow.
Moral
The importance of obeying Allah’s commands without unnecessary questioning.
The story of the cow is mentioned in Surah Al-Baqarah, which means "The Cow." It teaches us about obedience to Allah and the consequences of making things harder for ourselves.
A man from Bani Israel was murdered, and the people could not find the killer. They asked Prophet Musa (Moses) for guidance, and Allah commanded them to sacrifice a cow. Instead of obeying immediately, they kept asking unnecessary questions about the cow’s age, color, and type. Each question made their task more difficult, until they had to find a very specific cow that was rare and expensive.
When they finally sacrificed the cow, Allah revealed the murderer’s identity, showing that His commands always have wisdom behind them. This story teaches us to trust Allah and follow His guidance without unnecessary hesitation or argument.
