Detailed Explanation

This verse reminds us that while we may encourage others to do good, guidance is ultimately in Allah’s hands. Even if you want others to follow the right path, it is Allah who decides who receives guidance. This shows us that it’s important to share knowledge and invite others to good, but not to be disheartened if they do not immediately follow, for your sincere efforts are recognized by Allah. Additionally, when you give or spend in the way of Allah, such as through charity, it is beneficial to you. The good deeds, energy, and resources you invest will return to you, often in ways you might not expect. Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) emphasized the importance of charity numerous times. In one Hadith, he said, "Charity does not decrease wealth..." (Sahih Muslim, Book 5, Hadith 2325). This teaches us that generosity leads to personal and spiritual growth. According to Tafsir Ibn Kathir, this verse was revealed when some believers were concerned about the guidance of non-believers. They were taught that their duty is to provide the message and perform righteous acts, but the outcome is with Allah. By spending for good, you nurture your heart and purify your wealth because the primary benefactor of your charity is yourself. This understanding cultivates patience and humility in inviting and helping others while reinforcing steadfastness in your own faith journey.
